Cross-discipline and discipline-linked teaching

Cross-discipline and discipline-linked learning promotes a comprehensive way of viewing the subjects being taught. The textual linking of disciplines draws on different technical perspectives and methods for the solution of interdisciplinary problems and the development of common strategies for solutions. The schoolchildren learn to stop thinking in terms of a single discipline and to start thinking in terms which go beyond the borders of individual disciplines. This multi-disciplinary point of view will help them to understand the subjects they are being taught in terms of relationships and to create links between them. The knowledge networks which they create in this way are more robust and long-lasting, and support the development of skills which are needed for dealing with complex questions and problems.
